Self Employment Opportunities

Self Employment is a real and viable option for disabled people whose condition may fluctuate or affect their ability to work consistent hours. 

Local support is offered through Princes Trust and through GFirst LEP, who also offer support with workplace visits and interview skills.

The Fredericks Foundation offers advice on start up loans for disadvantaged people.

Barnwood Trust (see seperate record on the directory here) offers small grants to help disabled people and may be used to start up businesses or for work related expenses, etc. 

Start and Grow Enterprise offers free support for freelancers, entrepreneurs and new businesses in Gloucestershire.

Forwards Employment Service, can help young people with SEND to work towards getting a paid job, they can also help with becoming self-employed or starting their own business.  This service is called Passion to Pounds, this offer is open to all Forwards Customers and can support young people with building an idea to developing a business plan, and in liaising with organisations to help make this idea a reality.
