Parents’ Relationships Matter Programme

Some level of arguing and conflict between parents is normal and a part of everyday life, most of us experience arguments at some point in our lives! However, there is strong evidence to show how inter-parental conflict that is frequent, intense, and poorly resolved can have a significant, negative and long-lasting impact on children’s mental health and long-term life chances. Life experiences such as having a new baby, work stress, financial worries, parenting styles/differences in parenting, and influences from wider family members can all impact on the quality of our relationships.

In Gloucestershire, we are working with a range of practitioners like you across the county including Health, Education, Children’s Social Care, to provide awareness, training, and resources to support parents to reduce the impact of conflict resolution.
