The Young Anglers Project (YAP), was created for the benefit of bringing a variety of opportunities to the young, disadvantaged and disabled using angling as the learning media.

The Young Anglers Project (YAP), in conjunction with the NFA (now part of the Angling Trust) has prepared the Kingfisher Programme as a pre-curser to the OCN accredited course "Introduction to Angling and the Environment". The Kingfisher Award is tailored to suit individual varied learning abilities and is supported by both classroom and practical lakeside sessions.

YAP has continually endeavoured to support children, young people, families and adults of all abilities by targeting its programme to suit a wide range of organisations. The Project's objective is to simply improve quality of life, enhance the overall health and psychological well being of those taking part and to increase their self-esteem.
