GIS Healthcare is part of Gloucestershire County Council, GIS is a supported business providing employment opportunities for disabled people. Through their Train and Gain programme they offer 6 month paid work placements within their factories or within other GCC departments. During their traineeship, trainees are supported by GIS and other providers to look for work with other employers and they are able to apply for other vacancies within GIS if appropriate. Our local offer aims to raise the expectations of Gloucestershire's young disabled people. Through access to a range of good quality employment services we want to ensure that every young person can achieve their employment aspirations and believe in their ability to find and sustain appropriate work.
Bringing together services which have been locally commissioned and national programmes we are developing a comprehensive menu of support that will help young people to develop their skills and confidence allowing them to contribute to both their local communities and to Gloucestershire's thriving economic future.
