Stroud High School
Stroud High School is a grammar school where girls can freely achieve their personal best, supported and encouraged by a team of dedicated and committed staff. The girls who enter the school will gain outstanding academic qualifications as a result of experiencing learning, within and beyond the classroom, which will develop their self-confidence and prepare them to become confident and happy young women.
We challenge the girls to achieve their personal best through encouraging independence and aspiration as well as developing the resilience and resourcefulness they need to thrive in an ever changing world. We want the girls at Stroud High to explore their talents and enthusiasms and leave the school with a lifelong passion for learning.
Most importantly of all our community is built upon the values of politeness, courtesy, a respect for and desire to help others and a spirit of fun and enjoyment. These have remained at the heart of the school since it was founded in 1904 and are demonstrated and celebrated in our unique Triple A Award.
Our website will give you a flavour of what is happening at the school from the many extra-curricular opportunities to the curriculum arrangements. Please come and visit us on our Open Evenings and Open Mornings in September, March and July and experience first-hand the very special atmosphere of our school. If you are unable to attend these events, we will be happy to arrange for a guided tour with our best ambassadors – our students.

Additional Eductional Needs
If the student’s needs are best met through school intervention (AEN category), she will have a 1-1 meeting with the SENCO to discuss needs in the classroom and wider school environment. As a result of this meeting, SENCO will draw up a Targeted Support Plan (TSP) which will then be shared with parents and all relevant teaching staff. Parental input is welcome in drawing up the TSP.
TSPs will include a section on the student’s strengths and difficulties. There will be agreed actions that need to be taken by staff when teaching the student to assist them in achieving their full potential. If appropriate, the TSP will also cover any access arrangements for examinations that are required.
SEND
If the student’s needs are best met through both school intervention and the additional support of an EHCP, she will have a 1-1 meeting with the SENCO to discuss needs in the classroom and wider school environment. As a result of this meeting, SENCO will draw up a Individual Education Plan (IEP) which will then be shared with parents and all relevant teaching staff. Parental input is welcome in drawing up the IEP.
IEPs will include a section on the student’s strengths and difficulties. There will be agreed actions that need to be taken by staff when teaching the student to assist them in achieving their full potential. If appropriate, the IEP will also cover any access arrangements for examinations that are required.
In addition, we will initiate all appropriate processes to access full support from the local authority and other agencies to access a full EHCP plan, where appropriate.
