The Music Works aims to help people across Gloucestershire create their own music with a focus on working with early years, children and young people. They provide skilled music leaders, training, equipment, facilities and encouragement; take referrals from professionals working with children and young people; support the development of singing and rapping in schools and provide bespoke workshops and lessons in response to requests. We provide regular music input for schools, special schools, hospital education, alternative provision schools, and other organisations. As well as one to one mentoring and occasional courses at other locations around the County.

We can come to you. We are also at Cinderford Soundspace, Causeway Road, Cinderford, GL14 2AF and Gloucester Guildhall.

Last year we worked with approximately 350 disabled children and young people (CYP) both in and out of school. We are the only community music organisation in the county that focuses on disabled CYP – working with all eight special schools in the county and organising an annual inclusion conference and a special schools music festival. We are experts in adaptive specialist music technology.

Our Disability Lead, Lee Holder, has a particular talent for modifying and building equipment to adapt to individual abilities.
