Jamats is a Centre for adults with special needs. Jamats is a spacious, safe environment with a very large matted exercise area. This enables everyone to take on and help achieve their personal and individual goals in a healthy fun-packed relaxed environment. Everyone is welcome - come along and join the fun. People can come in for as long as they want, maybe an hour or two, or a full day, what ever is best for the individual. We hold Music, Drama, Keep fit, Life skills, learning, Games, Budgeting, Computer skills, Photography classes, and much more. We also run Jamats Achievement programme which helps people with further education. (This course is very popular for young people who are leaving the education umbrella, ie; Post 16, or College). Jamats Academy Ltd has a wonderful, happy, social environment. It has lots of space and lots to do. Jamats tries to fit in with individual needs and wants of the service users. We try to encourage life skills and personal development always. We also focus on exercise, healthy living and keeping fit.
As parents of a son with Autism, Joan and Don are compassionate and believe in everything Jamats stands for. We have sessions for college leavers or students that are on school breaks. Joan & Don have a 29 year old son with severe Autism and Learning Difficulties. They have a lot of experience of what it means to have such a loved member of the family who needs to be guided, cared for and supervised at all times, to make sure his life is fulfilled to the best of his ability.
We work closely with clients, support workers, parents and carers to gain maximum knowledge of everyone that attends Jamats.
