Woodchester Endowed Church of England (VA) Primary School
- Local Offer
Woodchester Endowed Church of England Primary School is an Aided School, which means that we are a Church School aided by the local authority. The St Mary’s Church P.C.C. appoints the majority of our governors and staff are appointed within the Christian Ethos of the school. The Endowment is from the Seys and Bridges Trust who set up the school in 1885 and it remains very much at the heart of the community.
In 2019, the community revisited the school's vision, considering what it meant to be a 'distinctly Christian' school. Together, we shared what was valued and special about our school, as well as what we wanted achieve. Thinking about the experiences we believe children and adults should have, we teased out the following elements as being import to us:
- Rich, engaging experiences/broad curriculum
- Strong relationships between different communities – School/Church Community/Village Community/wider community including Global
- Holistic approach – developing the ‘whole child’, not just academic
- Using, sharing and celebrating talents for the benefit of all
Our Vision:
Our church school community seeks to inspire children and adults to love, learn and flourish together so we may become everything God has created us to be.
Our Christian vision is rooted in the desire to nurture the whole community, flourishing both now and in the future. It recognises that we are unique individuals, loved by God, each with our own strengths and talents to contribute and that by working together we can achieve more within our own community and beyond.
Our Motto:
‘Love, Learn, and Flourish Together’
