The current hearing screening programme for state school children in reception (4-5 years) is being replaced with a new earlier identification and detection referral pathway for parents and professionals including early years, education and social care.

The new pathway has been developed collaboratively with a working group and has been accepted by the CCG and Audiology Service. The new pathway is a pilot and will be reviewed by the Paediatric Audiology Steering Group in July 2019.

If you are a parent or carer who has concerns about your child's hearing, please talk to your GP or other health professional.

If you are a professional and have discussed your concerns with the child's parent or carer, you will find the Paediatric Audiology referral for in the Practitioner section below.  Please sign in to access further details.
