Winston's Wish

Winston's Wish helps bereaved children and young people rebuild their lives after a family death. They offer practical support and guidance to families, professionals and anyone concerned about a grieving child. Winston's Wish offers face to face services nationally to children and families bereaved by homicide and military deaths. For families who have been bereaved through an accident, illness or suicide, this service is only available for families living in Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Sussex, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire, Staffordshire and Cumbria.  If you live out of these counties we will be able to support you if you can travel into one of our regional offices or drop-ins.  Alternatively, support can still be offered from the Helpline and Callback servicesThe Winston's Wish Helpline is a national helpline offering support, information and guidance to all those caring for a child or young person who has been bereaved. It is staffed by professional people with extensive experience, who have up-to-date knowledge of supporting bereaved children and their families. The line is open from Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm and on Wednesday evenngs between 7:00pm and 9:30pm; calls are charged at local rate.
