The British School

  • Local Offer

The British School is a small primary school set in spacious grounds in the picturesque Cotswold town of Wotton-under-Edge. The School was founded in 1843 and has a long tradition of serving the community.

The number of children at The British varies slightly from year to year, but the roll is usually in the vicinity of 160 from Reception to Year 6. At the British School we recognise that all children have differing abilities and needs.

Our aim is to educate our pupils in a bright and caring environment and to develop their individual potential as fully as possible.

We offer our children a wide range of after-school clubs covering a breadth of activities including sports, art & design, cookery, gardening, music and drama.

We have developed an outdoor teaching area where children can pursue co-curricular activities in a semi-woodland environment, something that all the children enjoy.
