Have you ever been without a vital consumable? Skiggle could help you!
Have you ever been without a vital care product or consumable?
Skiggle could help you.
Wherever you may be in the UK, Skiggle has a network of members that could help you when you need it most. If you find yourself away from home and had forgotten to pack specialist feed, or perhaps you’re shielding at home and your essential supply of disability equipment is delayed or just no longer available. Skiggle’s unique SOS emergency alert service could find someone to come to your help within hours.
There’s no other charity like Skiggle in the UK, which exists to meet the needs of people across the disability world. Whether you’re a parent of a child with complex special needs, a carer, or even an Armed Forces veteran, Skiggle could very well provide a lifeline.
Skiggle was co-founded and is run solely by Christine Singleton and Helen Taylor. Christine is also mum to James who is profoundly disabled and was the inspiration behind Skiggle – to help people like James live their fullest lives. With a growing network of 7,000+ members around the UK, Skiggle’s aim is to make sure help will never be more than 10 miles away when needed most. If you need to get hold of something urgent, simply send a completely free of charge SOS alert and Skiggle will help find someone to come to your aid, by providing a product from their own (potentially surplus) stock. You never know when you might find yourself in the same predicament.
Just think of Skiggle as a rescue service for the disabled world wherever you may be across the UK.
Skiggle also facilitates an online marketplace where hundreds of unopened pieces of equipment and various care products, can be safely donated, distributed, and shared among those in need. Not only does this give people somewhere to turn if they need sealed feed items, specialist disability equipment, or care consumables, it also helps cut down some of the huge amount of plastic waste that would otherwise end up in
landfill. And Skiggle provides a platform for people to share personal issues, problems or stories with peers through social media channels and a dedicated Facebook community. The friendly group gives people the chance to ask for advice and support when needed, recommend products, ask about services, or just to have a general chat about anything at all.
As a registered charity, Skiggle relies solely on generous donations and fundraising efforts.
We would love to hear from you and for you to join our ever-growing network of members. Life always comes before the disability.
