The James Hopkins Trust provides a free nursing respite care service for children up to the age of six with life limiting or threatening conditions or severe disabilities. Respite is given on a regular basis in their family homes, throughout all parts of the county.

In addition they have their own purpose built day centre (Kites Corner). Amenities include a multi-sensory room, soft play room, a therapy or quiet room, a large sensory garden and play area, a large playroom and a messy playroom.

They offer day care, including a creche two days a week and holiday clubs for children who meet their criteria. There are also sibling groups, support groups for parents and family outings. Respite can also be given by the nurses at Kites Corner if preferred.
