The Enablement Co-ordinators will work with young people aged 17 and over to:
- Develop greater independence by working on the following areas; personal safety (within the home & their local community), developing inclusive relationships, healthy lifestyles, understanding risk, problem solving skills, road safety, transport training, use of leisure time. (this work will be an extension of what schools and colleges are already doing and could be undertaken in school/college holidays, evenings and weekends).
- The workers will work with small groups and individuals depending on the needs.
The enablement service is countywide who currently operate from the Drop In/s which are based in the libraries (Stroud, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Forest of Dean, Tewkesbury and Cirencester).
