Cotswold Boatmobility
- Local Offer
If you have difficulties with mobility but would enjoy spending time on the Stroud Canal, in specially designed crafts, with support from motivated volunteers, then Cotswold Boatmobility may be just for you. We have three katakanus which are very stable six seater boats which are paddled like a canoe. You do not need any previous skills or equipment or to be able to swim. Life jackets are provided.
The activity is aimed at groups such as: people with learning difficulties, mobility issues, the elderly or anyone at all who would like this supportive activity and their friends and families.
It is an inclusive community group for people who like to be on water. The boats are kept at Stonehouse Wharf at Boakes Drive, GL10 3QW.
They have three Katakanus which are very stable six seater boats which are paddled like a canoe. A wheel chair accesible 'wheelie boat' will also be available.
They go out on the Stroudwater Canal to the Ocean and to Ryeford, and sometimes to Ebley and beyond. They usually go out on Mondays and Wednesdays but we aim to be flexible and to arrange the use of the boats to suit the people wanting to use them.
