Home-Start North and West Gloucestershire

We are currently offering 3 different groups across our scheme:

Bump & Me is for families expecting a child.  A welcoming weekly session to talk about preparations for birth, and what to expect during birth and the first few hours, days, and weeks. A time to build a network of other likeminded parent-to-be.

Baby & Me is for families who have a baby under 6 months old.  A non-judgemental, supportive space for parents to learn about and discuss topics such as the first few months of parenthood, safe sleeping, weaning, the importance to play and communication to support child development, and baby massage. A place to build a network of friendship with other local parents.

Mothers in Mind (MiMs) is a weekly group specifically for mothers with children under the age of 5yrs who are experiencing mental health challenges. Parents can drop in throughout the session, and develop peer support relationships with other mothers, to build their resilience.

All groups will be running during term time only (Hesters Way MiMs is all year round) and anyone is welcome to sign up for a group. You can also join part way through the term and repeat missed sessions if Bump or Baby continue into the following term.

All our groups are free and are run during term-time only. Our groups are all currently running online in weekly sessions. If you are not sure which group might be right for you, please give us a call or send a message and we can help.

 Become a volunteer!

Our next volunteer training course will be starting soon. We are looking for people with parenting experience to become volunteers with Home-Start North and West Gloucestershire. We cover the areas of Cheltenham, Tewkesbury and the Forest of Dean and are recruiting volunteers to work with families in these areas to provide support and friendship. Volunteers will need to be able to spare a couple of hours each week to work with their families and be able to complete a ten-week training course which will take a couple of hours each week to complete. Our next course will be run online via Zoom and prerecorded tutorials. If this sounds like something you would like to get involved with then please see our Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/hsnwglos/ or have a look at our website https://homestartnwglos.org.uk/ where we have more details.
