How accessible is your service?

The setting was built for pre-school use and we ensure all children’s needs are met on an individual basis. We have an adult sized disabled toilet, and wheelchair access to the pod would be via a ramp. Our facilities would be adaptable for a wheelchair user. Our setting is fully inclusive and prides itself on our individual approach, all activities outside the setting are risk assessed and a strict ratio of adult to child is adhered to. We will also seek parent’s advice concerning any additional/special needs or requirements.

Is the building fully wheelchair accessible?
No
Is there disabled changing and toilet facilities?
Yes
Describe any training or experience you/your staff, have had or are having in issues around SEND?

Experience of working with children and young people with the following disabilities/additional needs.

  • Autistic Spectrum Disorders
  • Challenging Behaviours
Please add any further information you feel may be of use for the SEND local offer.

Our aim is to make this first adventure into the world of education as fun and easy as possible for both parent and child. When a child starts with us we aim to get to know them through home visits or initial visits to the group accompanied by their parent or carer. An individual induction pack is sent out to parents or carers and an induction plan/start date is given. The key person works closely with parents/carer and child to ensure all the child’s needs are met. When the child moves on to another setting we complete a transition record and pass on any relevant documentation with parental permission.
