Lydney parkrun

What is Lydney parkrun?

It is a 5km run - it's you against the clock.

When is it?

Every Saturday at 9:00am.

Where is it?

The event takes place at Lydney Boating Lake, Lakeside Gardens, Lydney, GL15 5RH. 

What does it cost to join in?

Nothing - it's free! but please register before your first run. Only ever register with parkrun once. Don't forget to bring a printed copy of your barcode (request a reminder). If you forget it, you won't get a time.

How fast do I have to be?

We all run for our own enjoyment. Please come along and join in whatever your pace!

Getting There

Location of start

The run starts near to a block of garages on the side of the lake.

Getting there by public transport

Bus: The lake is located a short walk from Lydney’s Bus Station.

Train: Follow the road from Lydney train station towards Lydney town, cross over the roundabout, and follow the path down to the lake.

Getting there on foot

Lydney Lake can be found on the western side of Lydney Recreation Ground, near to the Football, Rugby and Tennis clubs.

Getting there by road

Lydney is located on the A48 between Gloucester and Chepstow. Turn off the A48 and follow the signs into Lydney town centre. At the bottom of Highfield Hill turn into Hams Road, just past the Bus Station, turn right into the Nisa store car park, then immediate left and follow the car park down as far as you can.
The start is located through the gate at the far end and down the footpath next to Lydney Tennis Club.

Please note there is NO parking at the lake for runners.

All parkrun events are free to participants and are run by volunteers. There are no permissions expressed or implied by the parkrun organisers. Participants make use of the facilities at their own risk and without express permission from the parkrun organisers or the Park or Council authorities.

Running is a physically active sport. You should always seek advice from your GP before taking up a strenuous physical pursuit such as this.
