Works for Me programme
- Local Offer
The Works for Me programme, which is a wraparound programme for NEETs in the county. We work with Bespoke mentoring and employers to help young people with engaging with their next steps and opportunities in their lives.
How can ‘Works for Me’ change your life?
It is a specifically designed programme (Over 12/16 weeks) for young people who want to get more out of life and really do want to access training or employment but have been held back, and are currently being held back, by personal circumstances through no fault of their own. Or, who have been told in the past, you can’t do that!
The WfM programme content has been interlinked with a Bespoke Mentoring programme, delivered by Gloucestershire based, award winning, Bespoke Mentoring, headed up by Gold Medal winning Paralympian, Andy Lewis MBE. Each young person will be given overall 1:1 support throughout the programme as well specialised 1:1 support as part of their engagement with us.
Mentoring will support both challenges and personal barriers that are being faced. All we ask is that any young person signing up is willing to be open and honest and ready for a challenge!
Training can be provided by our partners, and we can provide information to help get this started if you need to work on your Maths & English.
Future employment and/or training opportunities will be support and guided by our Job Broker, who will help you source and apply for opportunities, on a 1:1 basis.
Your WfM experience will help you explore buried aspirations and assess your current skills and knowledge with the aim of increasing both and accessing opportunities that in the past have not been available. This is the exciting bit! Thinking about the experiences you have had that have brought joy, can you go back to those to then generate an aspiration, and can future work then recapture some of that joy – that is what WfM hopes to aspire to.
As a result of attending this programme, you will have taken part in:
- Purposeful work experiences
- Self-assessment practices – helping you to know yourself more
- Mentoring that promotes a growth mind set
