- Other notes
Forest School activities include fire lighting, den building, tool use, shelter building, tree climbing, knot tying, bug identification, arts and crafts, pond dipping, imaginative play and much more. We are outside in all weathers and ask that children come prepared with spare clothes, wellies and waterproofs.
Many of our activities are grant funded and free of charge for children age 5-11 facing challenging circumstances. These have previously included families receiving benefits, children with disabilities or mental health difficulties, children with special educational needs, children experiencing challenging behaviour and looked after children. Please contact us if you'd like to discuss your child's eligibility for free sessions.
We are able to support children with special educational needs on a case by case basis. The forest school environment but we find that many children thrive with support in our setting. We may ask that parents attend alongside their children until we fully understand their needs and how best to support them. Unfortunately our site is not fully wheelchair accessible, however we may be able to support children with reduced mobility in other ways. Please contact us to discuss.
